It all depends

It rather depends on the application the material is to be put to.

Also is the material just absorbing chlorine,
or is it reacting with the chlorine (effectively giving you a new material)

Does a control sample, immersed in distilled water for 30 hours absorb similarly or is it just when immersed the chlorine solution.

If it is absorbing chlorine,
under what circumstances will it release the absorbed chlorine?

If a sample, after absorbing chlorine, is soaked in distilled water,
does the PH of the water change (indicating Chlorine is being released).

Chlorine is pungent, can you smell it on the sample?
