Calculate ppm of CO2 in seawater from flow rate?

This is likely a simple calculation but I'm not sure exactly how to do it.

I'm injecting pure CO2 at at a rate of 35 ml/min into seawater which has a flow rate of 6000 ml/min and want to calculate a predicted dissolved CO2 in seawater in ppm.

Anyone know how to do this off hand?

ppm refers to the mass of CO2 dissolved in mass of water , so 1 g of CO2 in 1 tonne water is 1ppm

First you have to find the mass of CO2 in 35ml ( ml is a volume)

search "density CO2" we see it's 1.98 kg /cubic meter

so 1 liter is 1.98 grams .... and 0.035liters (35ml) is 0.0693gms

0.0693gms of CO2 dissolves in the water every minute

we are tolds flow rate of of sea water is 6 liters per minute density sea water is 1.029

so the flow of mass of sea water is 6.174Kg

therefore 0.0693 gms dissolves in 6174 gms of water

but we want the mass in a million gms of water , so divide first figure by second and multiply by a million

11.224499 ppm
