I don't know
Why do you boil a coin in water?
(I don't do that)
What sort of coin (copper, silver, ...)
What is the source of the water?

Some metals have anti-bacterial properties
but if you are boiling the water that should kill any bacteria anyway.

British coins are mixtures of several metals,
but probably the most common metals are copper and nickel

I note that your profile says you live in India
I have heard that some of the water sources in India contain higher levels of arsenic than might be desirable.
It is possible that including a coin in the water, when boiling, could help to reduce the levels of arsenic.
(but this is very much a guess).
