Replacement Reaction
Hello everyone!
I was wondering what kind of reaction could happen between Bismuth (III) Nitrate and Iron.
I mixed a 0,2 M Bi(NO3)3 solution with Iron. I could watch many little resplendent particles floating in the solution, the liquid changed its color (from transparent to a light brown) and there was a black precipitate.
I think I made a replacement reaction, and came up with this idea:
Bi(NO3)3 + Fe ---> Fe(NO3)3 + Bi
Is this alright? I can't find information anywhere
Do you think it'll work with other metals, like Copper?
Thanks!
