Mimicing an Aurora borealis effect

Hi gurus,

I am new to this forum and excited about learning from the vast knowledge here! I have a challenge that I hope is interesting to help solve:

I would like to mimic the Aurora Borealis inside a small flat plastic cylinder. I envision this as constantly flowing liquids moving around inside the cylinder. It would need to happen without any outside influence, e.g no heating or cooling.

Would anyone have an idea as to which chemicals could potentially be mixed to achieve something like this?

Best regards,
Stian Lofstad
