Question Quantum Numbers

For the element Nickel, how many ground state electrons will have the quantum numbers n=3 and m(l)= -1?


Here's what I did but I'm not sure if I'm right: So for n=3 (Nickel), there are 16 electrons in the ground state (yes?). and then to find the magnetic quantum number, I must first find l (which is n-1). So since n in this case is 3, I subtracted 1 to get an l of 2. so the magnetic quantum number can be from -2 to +2 (-2,-1,0,1,2).

So i am stuck here, I do not fully understand what the question is asking, though I do understand how to basically find the quantum numbers. Any help?
