Mercury charges

What usual charge is the element mercury? I thought it was +1 and + 2 but I am not entirely sure? Can someone enlighten me please.

You want a list of oxidation states. You can find one here. It shows that Hg actually has three: -2, +1, and +2. I don't have any information on how likely those states are, though.
