# Finding PH

#### Helly

No

Total [H+] in the solution = {(1 x 10^−7) + (1 x 10^−8 )}M
11x10^-8 means pH = 8-log11

#### studiot

can you not add 0.0000001 to 0.00000001 to get 0.00000011 ?

What pH does this give you?

#### studiot

So what is -log(0.00000011)

#### Helly

So what is -log(0.00000011)
8 - log 11. The answer is (4)?

No.

Can you not look up the log of 0.00000011 or put that into a calculator.

What do you not understand?

So, pH is 7 from water
I'm starting to get the impression that you really don't understand this topic all that well. With the number of questions you seem to have about the basics I would say that you probably need to talk to your instructor about this.

Where am i wrong? What do you mean?

I mean that 8 - (log11) is not equal to 4.

8 - (log11) = 8 - 1.04 = 6.96.

So the pH is a little bit less than 7, which is what you would expect.

Oh yes. I meant the same pH is 6.96. The answer for the question is (4)?
