(CH3-CH3)
(CH2=CH2)
(CH2=CH-CH3)

What is compound CH3-CH3 and why is it saturated?

Many thanks in advance

A hydrocarbon is an organic compound composed exclusively of hydrogen and carbon atoms. Given molecular structure carbon- carbon bonded and created chain. Carbon's others valency occupied by hydrogens. Hydrocarbons occur naturally and form the basis of crude oi, natural gas, coal, and other important energy sources.

Thank you Nilay for this answer to an old question from nearly 2 years ago.

Whilst what yo usay is true, the OP why one of the list is saturated.

This is because it is the only one on the list with no carbon - carbon double bonds.

Saturated = all c-c single bonds.

Unsaturated = at least one c-c double or triple bonds.

There are no triple bonds in this question.
